Artery size on scan could guide surgeons in rectal cancer operations

NCT ID NCT07419516

Summary

This study looked back at medical records and MRI scans from 690 rectal cancer patients. Researchers wanted to see if the size of a specific artery near the tumor could predict whether the cancer had spread to nearby lymph nodes. The goal is to create a tool to help surgeons decide if a more extensive lymph node removal is needed during cancer surgery.
