Cancer treatment showdown: short vs. long radiation courses

NCT ID NCT07258797

Summary

This study compares two standard ways of giving radiation therapy before surgery for advanced rectal cancer. One approach uses a shorter, more intense radiation schedule over one week, while the other uses a longer, more traditional schedule over five to six weeks. Researchers want to see which method leads to better tumor shrinkage, fewer side effects, and better long-term outcomes for patients.
