First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study is testing whether giving a higher dose of radiation during standard chemo-radiation treatment helps more people with early-stage rectal cancer avoid having their rectum surgically removed. It will compare the standard radiation dose to a higher dose in about 162 patients. The main goal is to see if more patients can keep their rectum cancer-free for two years without needing surgery.
