First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked back at 300 adults who had surgery to remove a giant meningioma (a large brain tumor). Researchers wanted to see if using a fluid called hydroxyethyl starch (HES) during the operation increased the chance of re-bleeding that required another surgery within 48 hours, or caused kidney injury within a week. The goal is to help doctors choose safer fluids for these complex surgeries.
