First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study reviewed records of 300 adults who had surgery for large brain tumors (meningiomas over 5 cm). Researchers wanted to see if using a fluid called hydroxyethyl starch (HES) during surgery increased the chance of dangerous re-bleeding or kidney injury. The goal is to help doctors choose safer fluids for these complex operations.
