First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a lab-made version of lactoferrin (a protein found in milk) can help healthy adults better regulate iron, support gut health, and boost immune function. About 92 active adults aged 18-42 took either the supplement, natural lactoferrin, or a placebo daily for 4 weeks. Researchers measured iron levels, red blood cells, and exercise endurance before and after supplementation.
