New study aims to perfect radiation dose for liver tumors

Summary
This study tests a precise radiation treatment for liver cancer called radiation segmentectomy. It uses tiny radioactive beads (resin microspheres) injected directly into the artery feeding the tumor. The goal is to find the best radiation dose to destroy the tumor while protecting healthy liver tissue. About 150 adults with liver cancer that has not spread will take part.
