Faster tests could shield nursing homes from deadly outbreaks

NCT ID NCT06660433

Summary

This study aims to see if using rapid, on-site tests for viruses like COVID-19, flu, and RSV in nursing homes can help stop outbreaks before they spread widely. It will compare homes using these fast tests to those using slower lab tests to see if the quicker results lead to smaller outbreaks and fewer infections among residents. The goal is to find better ways to protect vulnerable elderly people living in long-term care.
