Hospital emergency team showdown: can a smaller crew save just as many lives?

NCT ID NCT04507737

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at which hospital team is best for responding to patients who suddenly get worse. It compares a smaller team (a nurse and a ward doctor) to a larger team (an ICU doctor, ICU nurse, and ward staff). The goal is to see if the smaller team can prevent deaths and ICU stays just as well. About 1,500 adult hospital patients will take part.
