Summary
This study looks at two different kinds of emergency teams that rush to help patients who are getting worse in the hospital. One team has an intensive care doctor and nurse, plus a regular ward doctor and nurse. The other team has an intensive care nurse, a regular ward doctor, and a regular nurse, but no intensive care doctor. The goal is to see if the smaller team works just as well at preventing deaths, cardiac arrests, and unexpected ICU stays. About 1,500 adult hospital patients will take part.
