First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a fast type of genetic test (rapid genome sequencing) can find the cause of birth defects seen on ultrasound faster than current methods. About 184 pregnant women with ultrasound abnormalities took part. The goal was to see if results could be delivered in less than 7 days, compared to the usual 3-4 weeks, to help parents make quicker decisions about their pregnancy.
