New drug tested to calm bipolar mania episodes

Summary
This study is testing whether an investigational drug called RAP-219 can safely and effectively treat acute manic episodes in people with bipolar I disorder. 224 adult participants experiencing a manic episode will receive either RAP-219 or a placebo during a 3-week inpatient stay. Researchers will measure changes in manic symptoms and monitor for side effects to determine if the drug helps control these intense mood episodes.
