Blood pressure pill tested to ease crippling leg cramps
NCT ID NCT01037530
Summary
This study tested whether a common blood pressure medication called ramipril could help people with intermittent claudication, a condition causing leg pain and cramping during walking due to poor blood flow. Researchers compared ramipril against a placebo (sugar pill) in a small group of participants to see if it could help them walk farther on a treadmill. The main goal was to measure improvement in walking distance, while also checking effects on blood vessel health, quality of life, and treatment costs.
