New radiation angle aims to spare patients from painful side effects

NCT ID NCT07413627

Summary

This study is testing if a different way of aiming radiation beams can reduce side effects like severe dry mouth and trouble swallowing for people getting radiation treatment for mouth or throat cancer. About 70 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard radiation setup or a newer, more angled setup. The main goal is to see if the newer method improves patients' quality of life by easing these difficult symptoms three months after treatment ends.
