New hope for frail lung cancer patients: no chemo needed

Summary
This study tested a combination of radiation therapy and the immunotherapy drug durvalumab in 51 elderly or frail patients with stage III lung cancer who could not receive chemotherapy. The goal was to see if this approach could control the cancer with manageable side effects. Results focused on lung inflammation and tumor response at 3 months.
