Zapping dry eye: radiofrequency offers new hope for stubborn cases

Summary
This study tests whether a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment, followed by meibomian gland expression, can improve tear film stability better than gland expression alone in people with hard-to-treat dry eye. About 112 adults with moderate to severe meibomian gland dysfunction will be randomly assigned to receive either active radiofrequency or a sham procedure. The main goal is to see if the radiofrequency group has longer tear breakup time, meaning more stable tears and less discomfort.
