Radioactive drug trial offers new hope for men with Tough-to-Treat prostate cancer
NCT ID NCT03939689
Summary
This study tested whether adding a radioactive drug (I-131-1095) to standard medication (enzalutamide) could better control advanced prostate cancer that had worsened on a prior drug (abiraterone). It involved 120 men whose cancer had spread and was visible on a special PSMA scan. Researchers compared two groups: one received the radioactive drug plus standard therapy, while the other received standard therapy alone, to see which was more effective at reducing cancer markers and controlling tumor growth.
