New radiation combo trial aims to control cancer with fewer side effects

NCT ID NCT06846450

Summary

This study is testing two different combinations of advanced radiation therapy for people newly diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. It aims to see if a newer type of radiation (proton therapy) combined with carbon ion therapy works as well as the standard radiation (photon therapy) combined with carbon ion therapy. Researchers will compare how well the treatments control the cancer and their side effects in 470 participants.
