Scientists probe hidden cause of deadly radiation side effect
NCT ID NCT06557343
Summary
This study aims to understand why some patients develop serious lung inflammation (radiation pneumonitis) after radiation therapy for chest cancers. Researchers will use a new lab technique on cell samples from just five patients to see which cells are active and what they are doing. The goal is to learn the basic biology of this harmful side effect, which could one day lead to better treatments.
