New hope for tough pancreatic tumors: scientists test stronger Radiation-Chemo combo

NCT ID NCT02207465

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new treatment combination for pancreatic cancer that cannot be easily removed by surgery. Doctors are carefully increasing the doses of a chemotherapy drug (nab-paclitaxel) and radiation therapy together to see if it can better control the tumor. The goal is to find the safest and most effective dose to help patients live longer by keeping the cancer from growing locally.
