Radiation-Free hope: new study may spare patients from harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT07563088

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether patients with a rare nasal or sinus cancer (adenoid cystic carcinoma) can safely avoid radiation therapy after surgery if the tumor was completely removed. About 200 participants will choose either surgery alone or surgery plus radiation, and researchers will track cancer recurrence for at least 3 years. The goal is to see if skipping radiation offers similar cancer control while avoiding long-term side effects like dry mouth or bone damage.
