NCT ID NCT06271655
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a rapid point-of-care test that quickly identifies the virus causing a respiratory infection can help doctors avoid prescribing antibiotics when they won't work. About 200 adults visiting the emergency department with symptoms like cough, fever, or sore throat will receive the test. The goal is to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use, which can lead to antibiotic resistance and longer ER stays.
