Cheaper rabies shot? skin injection trial aims to slash vaccine cost

NCT ID NCT07345208

Summary

This study is testing if giving a rabies vaccine as a small injection just under the skin (intradermal) is as safe and effective as the standard, larger injection into the muscle (intramuscular). Researchers will compare the two methods in 90 healthy volunteers in Bangladesh. If successful, the skin method could make rabies prevention much more affordable and accessible, as it uses much less vaccine.
