First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This early-phase study tested a lab-made version of a natural protein (human serum albumin) in 36 adults with liver cirrhosis and fluid buildup in the belly (ascites). The goal was to check safety and how the body processes the drug at three different doses. Participants received either the test drug or an active control, and researchers monitored side effects and drug levels in the blood.
