New hope for kids with relapsed leukemia: experimental drug quizartinib tested in trial
NCT ID NCT03793478
First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called quizartinib in children and young adults (ages 1 month to 21 years) with a specific type of leukemia (FLT3-ITD AML) that has returned or not responded to treatment. The drug is given with chemotherapy to see if it can help achieve remission, and then continued alone to keep the cancer under control. The goal is to manage the disease, not cure it, as ongoing treatment is needed.
