Natural antioxidant tested as potential lifeline for boys with rare, dangerous immune disease

NCT ID NCT07433621

Summary

This is a small, early-stage study to see if quercetin, a natural antioxidant found in foods, is safe and tolerable for boys with a rare genetic immune disorder called XIAP deficiency. The disorder causes severe, life-threatening inflammation. Researchers want to find out if quercetin can help control this inflammation as a potential alternative to a risky bone marrow transplant, which is currently the only cure.
