Quercetin: a new hope for lung scarring?

NCT ID NCT07466420

First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily dose of quercetin, a natural compound found in foods like apples and onions, can slow lung scarring and improve breathing in people with pulmonary fibrosis. Researchers will compare 50 patients taking quercetin plus standard care against 50 patients receiving standard care alone. The goal is to see if quercetin can reduce inflammation and fibrosis, potentially offering a new way to manage this serious lung disease.
