New imaging method may reduce heart surgery complications
NCT ID NCT03977129
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at 792 people who need heart valve surgery and also have blocked heart arteries. It compares two methods—standard angiography and a newer computer-based method called Quantitative Flow Ratio (QFR)—to decide which arteries need a stent. The goal is to see if QFR guidance leads to fewer serious problems like death, heart attack, or stroke within 30 days after surgery.
