New study probes hidden stomach valve issues in gastroparesis patients

NCT ID NCT04661215

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with gastroparesis (a condition where the stomach empties slowly) have problems with the pyloric sphincter, the muscle that controls food leaving the stomach. Researchers will use special tests to measure how well this muscle works in 150 adults with symptoms. The goal is to learn how common these abnormalities are, not to provide treatment.
