Puppets vs. needles: can toys calm Kids' cancer treatment fears?

NCT ID NCT07493018

Summary

This study aims to see if using a hand puppet or a squeeze toy can help reduce fear and distress for children with cancer or blood disorders when they need an IV placed. Researchers will compare 90 children, ages 6 to 10, who are randomly assigned to use a toy or receive standard care. The main goals are to see if the toys make the procedure quicker, more successful on the first try, and less scary for the child.
