New electric pulse treatment tested for stubborn heart rhythm problem

NCT ID NCT07362134

Summary

This study is testing a new procedure called pulsed-field ablation for people with a recurring, hard-to-treat heart rhythm problem called atypical atrial flutter. The procedure uses brief electric pulses instead of heat to create tiny scars in the heart to block the abnormal electrical signals. Researchers will check if this method is safe and can successfully stop the flutter during the procedure and prevent it from coming back over a year.
