New electric pulse treatment shows promise for stubborn heart flutter
NCT ID NCT07362134
First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests a new method called pulsed-field ablation (PFA) to treat a type of irregular heartbeat called atypical atrial flutter that has come back after previous treatment. The goal is to see if PFA is safer and works better than standard treatments by using electric pulses instead of heat to fix the heart tissue. About 30 adults with this condition will be enrolled, and researchers will check for complications and how well the treatment controls the heart rhythm over a year.
