Summary
This study tests whether a pulmonary rehabilitation program can improve exercise tolerance and quality of life in women with COPD caused by long-term exposure to biomass fuel smoke. Sixty women who have never smoked but used biomass fuels for cooking or heating will be randomly assigned to either the rehab program or standard care. The main goal is to see if they can walk farther in six minutes after treatment.
