New drug tested for chronic female pain condition

NCT ID NCT07391241

Summary

This study is testing whether a single dose of an experimental drug called pudafensine can reduce pain in women with provoked vulvodynia, a chronic pain condition affecting the vulva. The trial involves 24 participants who will receive both the drug and a placebo in a random order, with neither the doctors nor participants knowing which they get at each visit. The main goal is to measure if pudafensine increases the pain threshold in the vaginal vestibule during a standardized touch test.
