Stitch-free eye surgery may speed healing and reduce discomfort
NCT ID NCT07307820
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested two methods of securing a tissue graft after removing a pterygium (a growth on the eye). In 30 patients with pterygium in both eyes, one eye received stitches and the other a stitchless technique. The goal was to see which method leads to faster healing, less discomfort, and better cosmetic results. The stitchless approach may offer a simpler, more comfortable recovery.
