Surfer's eye surgery may sharpen vision by reshaping the cornea

NCT ID NCT07198126

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at how removing a pterygium (a fleshy growth on the eye) and replacing it with a small piece of the patient's own eye tissue changes the shape of the cornea and reduces blurry vision. About 130 adults with moderate to severe pterygium will have their corneal curvature measured before and one month after surgery. The goal is to see how much the surgery improves vision by reducing astigmatism.
