Does therapy beat waiting? major trial tests mental health treatment speed
NCT ID NCT06916429
Summary
This study aims to find out if starting psychotherapy right away leads to faster improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms compared to waiting several months for treatment. It involves 308 people in Denmark who have been referred by their doctor for therapy. Participants are randomly assigned to either begin therapy within two weeks or be placed on a waiting list for about four and a half months, and their symptoms are tracked over time.
