Magic mushroom therapy tested to soothe the dying
NCT ID NCT05403086
Summary
This study is testing whether a single dose of psilocybin, combined with talk therapy, can help reduce severe emotional distress in adults with a life-threatening illness and limited time to live. It will compare psilocybin's effects to those of ketamine, another medication, to see which is more helpful for improving mood, anxiety, and quality of life. About 100 participants will receive therapy and one dose of either medication, with their well-being tracked for several weeks afterward.
