Could a blood injection beat steroids for back pain?
NCT ID NCT07036445
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study compares two treatments for persistent back and leg pain caused by a herniated disc: a standard steroid injection and an injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), made from your own blood. The goal is to see if PRP works as well as steroids over two years, with potentially fewer risks. About 200 adults with pain that hasn't improved after 6 weeks of other treatments will take part.
