Child's own blood plasma tested to speed up painful heel wound healing
NCT ID NCT07377708
Summary
This study tested whether a special dressing made from a child's own blood (called platelet-rich plasma or PRP) helps heel pad injuries from motorcycle wheel spokes heal better than a standard saline dressing. It involved 60 children in Pakistan, aged 5 to 12, with these specific injuries. Researchers compared how quickly and completely the wounds healed between the two groups over 12 weeks.
