Could your own blood help fix a 'Dropped' bladder? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07150442

Summary

This study is testing if adding a patient's own concentrated platelets (Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP) to standard surgery helps repair and strengthen the vaginal tissue in women with pelvic organ prolapse. Researchers will compare surgery with PRP injections to surgery with a placebo injection in 30 postmenopausal women. The main goal is to see if PRP improves the tissue's collagen structure and reduces the chance of the prolapse coming back.
