Blood plasma shot aims to speed up hip surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07498660

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a patient's own concentrated blood platelets (platelet-rich plasma) into a nearby back joint helps people recover faster and with less pain after hip replacement surgery. Researchers will compare this injection against a placebo saline injection in 60 patients. They will measure pain levels, hip function, and overall recovery at several points over 12 weeks after surgery.
