Can a simple injection boost shoulder surgery recovery?
NCT ID NCT07456215
Summary
This study tested whether a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection could improve tendon healing in people with a torn rotator cuff. Forty patients scheduled for shoulder surgery received either a PRP injection or a placebo injection 4-6 weeks before their operation. Researchers then analyzed small tissue samples taken during surgery to see if the PRP improved the tendon's biological properties.
