First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at a treatment for a jaw problem where the joint slips out of place (TMJ subluxation). The treatment uses a person's own blood to make a concentrated solution (platelet-rich plasma, or PRP) that is injected into the jaw joint. The study involved 40 adults who received two injections, and researchers compared a lower versus higher concentration of platelets to see which worked better for reducing pain, locking, and clicking over 6 months and 5 years.
