Blood plasma may boost sperm survival after freezing

NCT ID NCT07504575

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to the freezing medium can reduce damage to donor sperm caused by freezing and thawing. Researchers will compare sperm quality—like movement and shape—after thawing samples with different amounts of PRP. The goal is to see if PRP helps preserve sperm for future fertility treatments. The study involves 20 healthy sperm donors aged 18 to 35.
