Blood plasma may boost sperm survival after freezing

NCT ID NCT07504575

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to the freezing medium can reduce damage to donor sperm during cryopreservation. Researchers will compare sperm quality after thawing in samples with different amounts of PRP. The goal is to see if PRP helps preserve sperm movement and structure, which could improve future fertility treatments. The study involves 20 healthy sperm donors aged 18–35.
