First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to prepare patients with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) for a stem cell transplant. Instead of standard radiation, they receive targeted proton radiation to the bone marrow, aiming to reduce side effects. About 16 adults will take part, and researchers will monitor safety, relapse, and quality of life for two years after transplant.
