Proton beam trial aims to zap inoperable tumors with higher, safer doses

NCT ID NCT07173972

Summary

This study is testing whether a newer type of radiation therapy, called proton beam therapy, can be given at a higher dose to better control inoperable soft tissue sarcomas. The goal is to see if this approach stops tumor growth for at least two years without increasing side effects compared to standard radiation. The trial will include 40 adult patients in Norway and will also collect blood and tissue samples to look for clues about how patients respond to treatment.
