Precision proton beams target recurrent breast cancer, sparing healthy tissue
NCT ID NCT06954623
Summary
This study is testing a targeted form of radiation called proton beam therapy for women whose breast cancer has returned in the same breast after previous surgery and radiation. The goal is to see if this precise treatment can effectively control the returning cancer while causing fewer severe skin side effects compared to standard re-treatment options. It aims to offer an alternative to mastectomy for some patients with a localized recurrence.
