Advanced proton therapy tested for rare childhood brain tumor

NCT ID NCT02792582

Summary

This study is testing a newer, more precise form of radiation called intensity-modulated proton therapy for children and young adults with a rare brain tumor called craniopharyngioma. The main goal is to see if this advanced radiation can effectively control the tumor while causing fewer long-term side effects than traditional radiation. The study will also follow patients who had their tumor completely removed with surgery to see how they do without additional radiation.
