Army tests if protein schedule beats sleep deprivation
NCT ID NCT06073080
Summary
This U.S. Army study aimed to understand how sleep loss affects the body's ability to build and maintain muscle. Researchers tested whether spreading daily protein intake evenly across meals, rather than having most at dinner, helps muscles recover better after several nights of short sleep. Twenty healthy adults went through cycles of normal sleep, restricted sleep (4 hours per night), and recovery sleep while following specific protein diets.
